Meadowlark Select Bamboo Backing Strips offer excellent bow-making potential for designs that accommodate off-center node placement. These strips are particularly well suited to appropriate longbow layouts and composite bows with a captive riser enclosed within the laminations—including bamboo back-and-belly designs.

With only four nodes remaining after final trimming and preparation, Select backings offer a clean appearance and fewer nodes to accommodate when laying out your bow.

Match your backing to your build

Select Bamboo Backings are a versatile, high-quality choice for virtually any bow design that does not require a power lam. Their widely spaced nodes make them an attractive option across a broad range of bow styles.

For years, I have recommended a centered node as the most versatile starting point for arranging nodes around critical transitions, particularly in reflex/deflex builds requiring a power lam. That recommendation remains unchanged. However, a centered node is not essential for every build, and its absence does not make these strips lower-quality bamboo.
