Experimental Hybrid Bow Digital Shop Manual
Experimental Hybrid Bow Digital Shop Manual
Maple Core • Bamboo Back & Belly • Reverse Perry Reflex
This build manual documents the complete construction of an experimental hybrid bow that blends traditional materials with modern process control. It is designed to be used alongside the YouTube build series, filling in the critical details that video cannot reliably capture.
The bow features a Maple core, Bamboo back and belly, and Sapele accent laminations, built using a reverse Perry reflex, two-stage lamination process and controlled bamboo tempering. These elements increase performance potential, but they also reduce margin for error. This manual exists to manage that risk.
All dimensions, tapers, layouts, and sequencing details that are abbreviated or omitted in the video are fully specified here, along with behind-the-scenes process notes developed during the build.
Manual Includes
• Full limb, core, and lamination dimensions
• Lamination stack order and thickness targets
• Reverse Perry reflex form setup and two-stage glue-up sequence
• Alignment checks and preload management
• Final tillering strategy for a narrow-limbed build
• Early shooting evaluation and corrective guidance
Intended Use
This manual is written for bowyers who want a clear, repeatable path through a complex build. It emphasizes process, order of operations, and decision points, not shortcuts.
If you’ve watched the video series and want the complete picture—the measurements, structure, and quiet details that determine whether a build succeeds—this manual provides it.
